Pipa is the traditional musical instrument of China, which prevailed in the Sui and Tang dynasties (A.D.581-907). Depictions of Tang Dynasty folk music and court music can be seen on the Dunhuang frescoes.
琵琶源于波斯古国，经丝绸之路东传我国.后由西域乐人带入中原。琵琶的表现力极为丰富.现在经常演奏的著名琵琶曲有《夕阳萧鼓》、《月儿高》、《阳春》、《十面埋伏》、《彝族舞曲》、《花木兰》等。
