Short introduction of Shanghai Jiao Tong University

Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), located in Shanghai, is one of China's key institutions of higher learning. Over one hundred years old, SJTU continues a tradition of providing a high quality education and a stimulating research environment.

SJTU has been actively involved in international academic exchange programs with foreign universities. To date, it has established relations with more than 100 renowned universities and colleges in the world as well as connections with many research institutions, corporations and enterprises at home and abroad. SEIEE will move to the brand new Minhang campus in 2005. Minhang, the new SJTU main campus, is one of the largest and most beautiful campuses in China. It occupies more than 3.3 square kilometres, and will be completed by the end of 2006.

tuition fee:	Normal academic year 40,000 RMB (appr.EUR4197) In the year 2005-2006 is 35000 RMB they had a promotion offer. Check with the admission office for the latest tuition fees.
length:	Approximately 4 years: the student has to complete a total of 140 credits, which are composed of 33 university common core, 24 humanities and social science selective, 38 EECS common technology core and 45 for difference major specialty.
deadlines application:	SJTU has 2 semesters a year, a Fall semester from early September to the middle of Januari, and a spring semester from the middle of Februari to Early July. They only admit new students in the fall semester. Application is on rolling basis and will start on November-end of June.
educational requirements:	No academic degree is required
other requirements:	At application turn in a program application, an official transcript for of the highschools you attended for at least one year, a purpose of statement, a certificate of language proficiency (TOEFL 213+5, IELTS 6) and all other related documents and certifications.
