Huazhong University of Science & Technology (HUST) ranks at the top of China's leading universities in comprehensive strength . In the University, there are eleven faculties including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, agriculture, science, engineering, medicine and management. It offers a variety of programs, including 75 undergraduate programs, 200 Master's programs, 139 doctoral programs and 22 post-doctoral research centers. Admission Catalogue
I. Entry Qualification
Undergraduate: High school graduates or above;
Supporting documents: a. high school diploma;
b. related transcripts;
Master candidate: Graduated from a university or above;
Supporting documents: a. university diploma, certificate of Bachelor's Degree; b. university transcripts; c. two recommendation letters from professor or assoc. professor;
PhD candidate: Having obtained Master's Degree;
Supporting documents: a. certificate of Master's Degree; b. transcripts of Master program; c. two recommendation letters from professor or assoc. professor;
General students for further studies: The applicant should have completed at least 2 years of undergraduate study or have equvalent level of education, be healthy.
Senior student for further studies: The applicant should hold a Bachelor's degree or above and have at least two-year working experience, be healthy.
Student learning Chinese language, culture or history: The applicant should be interested in the Chinese language, Chinese culture or Chinese history, be healthy.
II. Application for Entrance
1. The Chinese Government Scholarships: The applicant should first submit application materials to his/her own government department for such exchange programs, and obtain necessary form from Chinese Embassy(Consulate) by the end of February. These application materials should be completely filled in and submitted to the Chinese Administrative Commission for Fund of Studying Abroad either by the Chinese Embassy or by the Embassy of the student's home country in China before April 30. Once the application materials are reviewed and are admitted by the university in compliance with relevant regulation, the applicant may be awarded a government scholarship provided by Chinese Scholarship Council(CSC).
2. All applicants must complete and submit the Application Form for Foreigners Wishing to Study in China, the Physical Examination Record for Foreigners, a notarized copy of the highest diploma and transcripts. Those wishing to study for their Master's or Doctoral degrees should submit in addition two recommendation letters from professor, associate professors or people holding an equivalent title.
3. Self-supported students or those with schoolarship provided by their own government is advised to get into contact with the Foreign Students Office directly to obtain the application form. An admitted applicant will be sent admission notification and the relevant documents for following the formalities of coming to China as a bearer of X visa.
III. Date of enrollment
1. One who wishes to enroll in the fall semester should submit his/her application before June 30
2. One who wishes to enroll in the spring semester should submit his/her application before December 30.
3. The application dossier should be sent by post, fax or E-mail direct to College of International Education of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. One who wishes to enroll in advanced studies in Chinese or a short-term cultural training program can contact the offices concerned any time.
IV. Records, examinations and credentials
There will be examinations in all courses taken. A student who has completed his/her studies according to schedule and passed the examination(s) will be awarded a certificate of completion of studies or a diploma.
V. Academic and degree certificates
1. A degree student who has completed all courses according to schedule and the total credit hours will be awarded a diploma as well as a bachelor',master'or doctor's degree certificate in accordance with the Academic Degree Regulations of the People’s Republic of China. One who has failed to meet the academic requirements will be issued a certificate of completion of studies provided this is in conformity with the relevant regulations.
2. A non-degree student will be issued a certificate of completion of studies upon conclusion of learning provided the relevant requirements have been met. One who has failed to meet the requirements will be issued a transcript.
