In China, lots of big cities have pretty good hotels of 4-5 star type, whose excellent service and accommodations are familiar with the needs of high requirement travelers or travelers with kids. These hotels have facilities such as currency exchange, restaurants, gyms (most have pools), and business centers. Most have Internet access, and Internet cafes are usually available close by.
Some of the more remote provinces do not get the volume of international travelers as others so their standards may be lower than n
ormal. For example, the floors may be dirty, the staff may not speak much English, or they may not have a menu of Western food. Their price is lower accordingly.
