There are several players involved in determining travel dates: you, the governments of China and the US, and adoptive
agencies. All must work together for a successful trip. The basics of travel scheduling follow, but remember that the intervals between steps are changeable.
1. After you accept your referral we will send you a letter of acceptance (required by
the CCAA) and ask you to return it by a specific date.
2. Return the acceptance letter by that date, as the CCAA will not release your travel approval without it. (You should always, however, take as much time as you need to decide about your referral.)
3. A few weeks after receiving the acceptance letter, the CCAA will issue your travel approval.
4. When the travel approval arrives at adoptive agency, we immediately request your visa appointment at the U.S. consulate in Guangzhou.
5. After the consulate confirms your visa appointment (which takes up to a week), adoptive agencies'
China staff sets the dates for your trip and immediately sends them to us.
6. Adoptive agency would notify you then.
7. You can then call a travel agent and purchase international round-trip tickets.
