Shandong province is a significant coastal province in East China,actually it is a peninsula. Located on the lower reaches of the Yellow River, it borders the Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea in the east and Jiangsu province in the south.It is considered the birthplace of China's pottery, porcelain and silk .

Ethnic Minority Group
Shandong has a population of 90.41 million people, making it the second most populous province in China.Shangdong is a home for 39 ethnic groups.The Han ethnic group accounts for more than 90 percent and among the ethnic minorities,the Hui is the largest,accounting for about 95 percent of the total.The others are the Manchu,Mongolian,Korean,Zhuang,etc.

Climate
Shandong has a warm-temperate monsoonal climate, with hot, rainy summers and dry, sunny winters,it has a mean annual temperature of 12°－14°C.

Cities and Highlights
Jinan, capital of Shandong Province, is known as the City of Springs with the famous recreational Daming Lake and at least 72 famous springs.Among them,Baotu Spring is the most attractive.In a big pool of fresh water, three springs at the bottom spurt out, forming three water columns sometimes reaching more than 30 centimeters above the water level.

Qingdao,a charming coastal city famous for its annual International Beer Fair,is a coastal city with quite beautiful views.The Seaside Scenic Area has beautiful scenery and a variety of well-preserved classical European style structures. Mount Laoshan, in the suburb of Qingdao,is a sacred land of Taoism,and it enjoys top position along the 18000-kilometer coast of China high summit league.
