Jilin Province is in the central part of northeast China and gets its name from the city of the same name in the province. It borders the far east region of Russia and D.P.R.Korea to the east.

Jilin has a population of 22.1 million,7 per cent are from minority nationalities, such as Koreans, Manehus, Mongolians, Huis, Xibes and Daurs. The Korean ethnic group in Jilin has distinguished characteristics in terms of costume, architecture, and folk arts.Travelers will find all of them are quite interesting and amazing.

Climate
Jilin has a temperate continental monsoonal climate,with cold and long winters, warm, short and rainy summers, and a windy spring and autumn with ever-changing weather.It has a mean annual temperature of 5.5oC,with an annual ice-bound period of around five months in its rivers.

Changchun ,the capital of Jilin Province,is known to the world for its automobile industry. Changchun is the home of China‘s No.1 Auto Making Plant. And because it is at the junction of railway in Jilin,it is quite important in geography.In Changchun,there is something that you can't miss,that is the palace which once served as the imperial palace of Aisin-Gioro Pu Yi, the last emperor of the Qing Dynasty in the northeast corner of the city .

Changbaishan (Tall White Mountain) is a nature preserve for wildlife and over 1,500 species of plants. You can find innumerable hot springs and spectacular waterfalls here,the most famouse part of Changbaishan is the Tianchi (Heavenly Lake) on the very top of the mountain,the view is nothing short of miraculous there.

Jilin City, once the capital city of Jilin Province, is the only city that has the same name as a province in China. There is a Meteorite Shower Museum in here that houses the largest piece of a meteorite found anywhere in the world.Besides,Jilin has many other natural and historical attractions to entertain its residents and visitors.
North Hill (Beishan) Park is a quiet and large park,it is considered an optimum venue for its summer lotus flowers and winter rimy pines.The park is also famed for it many holy features,with Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian temples and halls all around.It is quite amazing to see such a part which is suposed to be in Suzhou or Hangzhou.
Songhua Lake :Surrounded by tree-covered hills, the mirrorlike lake studded withy boats is a charming sight and a popular tourist in the trees provide sightseers with a place to relax.

Though Jilin is not outstanding as a tourist city, its name spreads among travelers nationwide because of the rime. The rime is a kind of phenomenon, in which winter fog condenses on the branches and leaves of trees to form separate, white ice crystals, according to metrology.It's quite beautiful in the cold winter days.
